Do You Adjust Pregnant Women?
Yes. We typically adjust our pregnant patients right up until the day of delivery.
Chiropractic is safe and effective for pregnant women and their babies, and can ease and greatly aid in the birth process. Dr. Tom has a special pillow which allows pregnant women – even at full term – to lie face down on the adjusting table with their bellies resting gently and comfortably in the middle of the cut-out pillow.
When Can an Infant Be Adjusted?
Just after birth. Babies can have subluxations at birth for a number of reasons:
- being cramped and sitting in one position in the womb
- the stress of birth – especially if any intervention is involved
Babies respond very well to the extremely gentle adjustment and it has been shown to help with colic.
Do Adjustments Hurt?
No. At Witwer Chiropractic we use a gentle instrument-based approach. You can read more about this on the Our Techniques page.
